How to Navigate Your Way Around the Gallery
The Gallery is divided into various categories:
- Annuals and Biennials
- Bulbs
- Ferns
- Grasses (ornamental grasses, sedges and rushes)
- Herbs
- Native Plants
- Perennials
- Shrubs and Trees
- Vines
Each category link on this page takes you to an index of the plants in that category. You can also find the links in the pull down menu above, under Plant Guides. Each plant in the gallery has a link at the bottom of each page that takes you back to the category index, which it resides in.
Some plants are cross-indexed; you can tell if it is cross-indexed by noticing that the plant's category is in green. For instance, a native shrub resides in the Native Plants index, but is cross-indexed in the Shrubs and Trees index. The listing in Shrubs and Trees looks like this:
- Acer circinatum
VINE MAPLE
Native Plants Gallery
In the Native Plant section where it resides, it looks like this:
-
Acer circinatum
VINE MAPLE
After you visit the page, to get back to the index, you can either use your back button on your browser or use the link at the bottom that takes you back to previous page. No matter where you land on RSG, this link on the bottom of every page takes you back to where you come from, even if you come from outside our site.
To return to this page, look up at the top of every page, and you will see breadcrumbs to lead you back up, no matter how deep you go into the caverns of this site.
The plants in their indexes are alphabetized by botanical names. The common name (if known) is located right under its name. If you are trying to find a plant and only know its common name, use the search engine for our site (in the pull down menu under home). Just type in its common name.
The Perennials Index is further divided. At the top of the index, you can select the alphabet for botanical names to find a plant. At the bottom of each page are the same navigation tools to get around the perennials category.
