Origin:
Japan.
Plant Group:
Tubers.
Hardiness:
USDA zones 6-9.

Height: 8 inches (20 cm).
Width 7 inches (18 cm).
Flowering period:
Summer.
Flowering attributes:
Hooded green spathes with a very long and slender spadix.
Leaf attributes:
Stems bearing deeply three-lobed leaves.
Light:
Full sun or partial shade.
Soil:
Fertile, humus rich, well-drained soil.
Feeding:
Side dress with compost in spring.
Propagation Methods:
Sow seed as soon as ripe.
Plant offsets in autumn or spring or detach bulbils in late summer.

A member of the Arum family it adds such interest to the garden! Pinellia likes woodland conditions but plant in an area where they can romp as they are vigorous little devils!
All parts of this plant contain calcium oxylate which is toxic if eaten fresh.
