GROWING GUIDE

Geographic Origin:
Garden.
Plant Group:

Mature size:
Height: 24-36 inches (60-90 cm).
Flowering period:
July.
Flowering attributes:
Upfacing flowers of bright pink petals with a splash of yellow down the center.
Light:
Full sun to light shade.
Soil:
Humus rich, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soil.
Feeding:
In spring, when lilies are at the spear stage of growth (like asparagus), fertilize with a complete organic fertilizer. Do not feed again for the rest of the year; excessive fertilizing can promote disease and soft growth.
Propagation Methods:
As soon as the foliage dies back, dig bulbs and remove scales, bulbils and offsets from bulb; immediately replant.

 

Rainy Side Notes

 

Lilium 'Jacqueline' is a brightly hued, Asiatic lily that doesn't produce pollen. Sorry bees, but flowers lacking pollen means there won't be rust-colored stains on the flowers, clothes or table linens when picking them for the vase. The bulbs produce up to 12 flowers each. In the garden, a stand of these bright and cheerful lilies is a sight to behold on a summer day in early July.
