Mature size:
Height: 6 — 8 feet (1.8 — 2.4 m).
Space: 9 — 12 inches (22 — 30 cm) apart.
Flowering attributes:
This Spencer cultivar, L. 'Midnight', is a wonderful deep maroon, with strong wavy standards, a dark purple at the base with a splash of brighter purple-maroon.

 

 

 

Rainy Side Notes

Lathyrus 'Midnight' lacks in the fragrance department. However, what it lacks in scent, it makes up for in beautiful, deep purple-maroon color and vigorous growth. Mixed in a vase of other jewel tone sweet peas, it is an outstanding cultivar.
