bullet Topic: How to do a forum search

We love to talk gardening so we may already have discussed and answered your gardening questions. It's easy to search the forum to find a treasure trove of information.

Select the Search button from among the options above to open a new page.

Fill in the key words in the "Search For" field. (The default setting for "Search On" is "All Words"; choose another option if desired.) Select "Topic Subject or "Message Body" in the "Search In" field.

If you are searching for posts made by a specific member, the key words in the "Search For" field should be his or her username; select "username" in the "Search In" field.

If you want to refine your search, narrow the field by selecting a specific forum in the "Search Forum" field. You can also opt to have the results shown in a specific order by selecting one of the choices under "Sort Results By" field.

When you've filled in all desired fields, select the Start Search button. Your key words will show up in yellow highlight in all search results.

You may also find answers among the many articles and archived discussions on the Rainy Side website. To search the website (a separate function from a forum search), click on “Search” under the “Navigating” heading, found in the left-hand column. This will take you to a Google search feature on the Rainy Side website (outside of the forum). If you want to search for information on Rainy Side only, be sure to select the rainyside.com box below the search field. Be sure to read Search Tips and Tricks to learn how to make your search more fruitful.

Gardening requires lots of water - most of it in the form of perspiration.
