GROWING GUIDE Geographic Origin:
Garden.
Rainy Side NotesRaised and named by Percy Picton at Hagley Hall in England, Clematis ‘Hagley Hybrid’ was introduced by Fisk’s Clematis Nursery in 1956. It is still one of the best pink flowering clematis on the market. This vine intermingles with a climbing rose, Rosa 'Dream Weaver', in my garden, and grows in full sun, so the flowers fade quickly. In the Pacific Northwest, we can get away with more full sun with this plant, although I believe my flowers would keep their mauvy-pink shades longer in partial shade with early morning sun and late morning to afternoon shade. C. ‘Hagley Hybrid’ is a choice container vine. This not so vigorous vine reaches 8 feet tall making it an excellent choice as a container grown plant or for climbing into a small tree or medium to large bush.
