Rainy Side Notes

A dwarf, drought tolerant conifer, Cedrus deodara 'Snow Sprite' is perfect for our Mediterranean-like climate in the maritime Northwest. Other regions need to put this special little evergreen in partial shade, but here in the north, we can grow it in full sun without fear of tip burn.

The new growth is tinged with white that turns a creamy-yellow with age. In ten years, the conifer will reach about 4 to 5 feet tall and will slowly keep growing to 15 feet in a few decades. They may grow faster if irrigated, so keep them small longer by putting the plants in an area that you don’t supplement with water during our drought period.
