Rainy Side Notes

Diascia comes from the Greek words di–two, and askos–a sac, and vigilis comes from the word vigil.

The species is the longest blooming of all the diascias and D. ‘Rupert Lambert’ follows their parents' example for being a long bloomer. A great addition to the summer garden, it will bloom for a longer period if deadheaded. I planted mine on the dark basalt rock wall that sets off the rose-pink flowers perfectly.
