Erythronium oregonum
DOG'S TOOTH VIOLET, TROUT LILY | ||||
|
GROWING GUIDE Geographic Origin:
British Columbia to Oregon.
Rainy Side NotesThe name erythronium comes from the Greek word erythros meaning red, named for the species E. dens-canis color from which dye was made. Erythronium oreganum, from the lily family, is a spectacular site in the garden, especially when planted in drifts in a woodland setting. When you receive your new bulbs, plant them right away; as with most bulbs in the lily family, they do not go completely dormant. Plant bulbs 4-6 inches deep.
