Geographic Origin: Garden.
Plant Group: Herbs.
Hardiness: Sunset zones: 2b-24. USDA zones: 5-8. Heat zones: 8-5.
Mature size: Height: 4 inches (10cm). Width: 8 inches (20 cm).
Flowering period: Summer to first frost.
Flowering attributes: Two to three-inch long, hop-like, chartreuse bracts that age to pink, with small pinkish-lavender flowers peeking out between them.
Leaf attributes: Blue-green, slightly rounded heart-shaped leaves.
Growth habit: Clump former.
Light: Full sun.
Soil: Extremely well-drained soil.
Feeding: Fertilize in spring with a complete organic fertilizer.
Propagation Methods: Divide in spring. | Basal cuttings in late spring.


Rainy Side Notes

This oregano is very similar to Origanum 'Barbara Tingey' except for being a little shorter. This herb looks best when draping down over a rock wall. The culture is the same for both herbs.
