GROWING GUIDE

Geographic Origin: British Isles, Europe, and Northern Africa.
Plant Group: Sedges.
Hardiness: Sunset zones: 7-24. USDA zones: 8-10.
Mature size: Height: 6-12 inches (15-30 cm). Width: 20 inches (50 cm)
Flowering period: All year.
Flowering attributes: Silvery flower heads born on the end of green stems.
Leaf attributes: Threadlike, green stems.
Growth habit: Clump forming.
Light: Full sun to partial shade.
Soil: Moist, bog-like conditions.
Propagation Methods: Division in early spring.

Rainy Side Notes

It looks like a rush, even a lighted fiber optics lamp, but it really is a sedge. For a perpetually wet or boggy area, this sedge might do the trick. I have not yet successfully wintered this over in my pond. It may be hardy in the ground, here in the Pacific Northwest. I will keep on trialing this plant in my garden, as it is a wonderful little sedge.
