Flowering period:
Late June.
Flowering attributes:
Upfacing flowers of creamy white petals with a splash of yellow down the center, accented by a deep red center.
Light:
Full sun to light shade.
Soil:
Humus rich, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soil.
Feeding:
In spring, when lilies are at the spear stage of growth (like asparagus), fertilize with a complete organic fertilizer. Do not feed again for the rest of the year; excessive fertilizing can promote disease and soft growth.
Propagation Methods:
As soon as the foliage dies back, dig bulbs and remove scales, bulbils and offsets from bulb; immediately replant.
Rainy Side Notes
Lilium ‘Tinos’ is a new asiatic lily introduced by Gebr. Vletter & Den Haan from Holland. Selecting larger bulbs will give a six to nine flowers per plant. Here in the Northwest the centers of the flower are a deep cherry red in color. In hotter climates, the centers sometimes are orange. If yours are orange in color and you would like the centers to be deeper reds, grow in light afternoon shade.
