SWEET PEAS
Family: Fabaceae

Mature size: Height: 3 - 4 feet (1.8 - 2.4 m). Space: 9 - 12 inches (22 - 30 cm) apart.
Flowering attributes: 'Cupani' is the original sweet pea. It was discovered by Sicilian monk, Francesco Cupani, who sent the seeds to Robert Uvedale, in England, in 1699. Flowers come two per stem with the standard a deep maroon and white at the base and the keel, pale lavender. They will occasionally sport a purple and wine bicolor flower. This heirloom has a very strong, sweet fragrance.
