The Creative Basket Maker

Where: Portland, OR

Date(s): 11/07/2009 through 11/08/2009

In this two-day workshop, ethnobotanist Margaret Mathewson will share
her enthusiasm and deeply informed skill in basketry. This is a chance
to exercise your own creativity under the guidance of a master. Create
a work of art in a rustic style random weave that may take the form of
a basket with a handle, a flattened wall pouch, a bird house or
feeder, a lantern holder or anything else you desire for your home or
garden. You may add a decorative star or leave it plain. All natural
materials include ivy, clematis, wisteria, beargrass, cedar root,
blackberry root and willow wands and bark. Materials included in the
price. Bring any special materials you might want to use in your
creation. The Berry Botanic Garden, 11505 SW Summerville Ave,
Portland, 503-636-4112 ext 102.
