The Birdbath and the Cloche
Debbie Teashon
The reason I love to go to Garden Tours is that I often find gems like this in a creative person's garden. I've planted old broken birdbaths before, but this one is pure genius!
A birdbath now holds the perennials Sagina subulata (Irish moss) and Sagina subulata 'Aurea' (Scotch moss). Unlike true mosses, these ground-covering perennials have tiny, white flowers.
A terracotta cloche sits on top of the birdbath and looks like a bell ready to be rung. It is a fantastic focal point for this partial-shade spot.
Container gardens do not have to be exclusively flowers.
The article about this garden is on West Sound Home and Garden magazine.
