Michael King is a distinguished garden designer, writer, and photographer. He has contributed many articles to magazines for both home gardeners and professional landscape architects. His books include Gardening with Grasses, New Plants, New Gardens, and Surprising Annuals. King was secretary at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in the 1980s; he is now based in Amsterdam and does garden design and consulting work as well as writing and plant photography.
